Educators Underground meeting – Saturday 27th August 1pm

Educators Underground is a local network for supporting education workers and creating spaces for co-operation, solidarity and positivity in education. We are members, supporters and fellow travellers of the Industrial Workers of the World union in addition to our own trade unions.

Our meetings allow teachers and support staff some space to blow off steam, network with workers outside their schools/nurseries and seek support for issues in the workplace.

We also devote time to discussing alternative education models and how we can integrate these into our practice.

This meeting will be held at Mr Bubbles Coffee Bar & Launderettes

Unit 1 St Mary’s House, 3 Hermitage Street, S2 4LA

Gender Equity Committee – Tuesday 30th August 5:30pm

A meeting of the Gender Equity Committee to discuss future events and other gender discrimination issues.

This meeting will be held at Union St, 18-22 Union Street, S1 2JPL.

General Branch Meeting – Monday 5th September 5:30pm

This is the local meeting to vote on national policy/motions that have been raised. All decisions here will be carried to the conference by our Sheffield delegates.

For the full agenda members should refer to the Sheffield mailing list. All national conference motions are to be found in the Internal Bulletin

Please not that this meeting will NOT be held in the Sheffiled IWW office, this and all future week night meetings will be held at Union St, 18-22 Union Street, S1 2JPL.

These meetings have to be pretty efficient to get through all the agenda items so they’re fairly formal… but a catch up tends to follow the meeting.
